Megan shares her daughter's lovely pink party (with a memorable cake smash photo!): I have been thinking about my daughter's first birthday since she was born and I wanted it to be something to remember. After looking over many party blogs and websites I decided that an all pink vintage party would be the way to go.
I started off by ordering cute vintage inspired invitations from Tiny Prints. From there I ordered a bunch of decorations from Etsy…a cake bunting from KikiLaRu, tissue paper poms from PomTree and circle garland from Delia Jude.
Along with these decorations I made a ribbon skirt to go around her high chair in all different pink ribbons and a Happy Birthday banner where I hung some of her one year photos. I was able to borrow a friend's apothecary jars to create a fun pink candy bar filled with delicious candy from OhNuts. Though the piece that really brought it all together was the fabulous flowers from Skinner Jones. I told her my theme and ideas and she nailed it with all the bud vases filled with pink and white vintage flowers scattered all throughout my house.
A few other elements that I loved was that my husband created a slideshow of all of Olive's photos throughout her first year. Our guests loved looking at those while they munched on their sandwiches and cake throughout the party. This party was everything I had hoped for and more, but the best part of the day was seeing all the family and friends who came to celebrate and show their love to my little one year old.
Thanks Megan! Readers, you can see more of Olive's party on the Megan Norman Photography blog.
