We love to see small space living solutions to incorporate kids and this one is lovely. Shannon shares: My husband and I live in a 800 sq. ft. loft in Downtown Toronto. When we found out we were pregnant we knew we needed to make some space! We removed the second closet from our bedroom and installed custom closets in the divider wall to compensate for the lack of storage. Then we used the newly open space to create Abby's own 'Baby Nook'.
I wanted the space to feel personalized even though it is part of our bedroom. Since the space we had to work with was limited, I ordered the "Caden small spaces crib" from Pottery Barn online which is smaller than the standard crib dimensions and also has a drawer along the bottom for additional storage. At the time I did not realize the crib was being discontinued (as well as the bedding) - luckily my Mom offered to make sheets, bumpers and crib skirt and I could not be more thrilled with how they turned out. The mobile is from Toys R Us but happens to be the same colour scheme. Abby loves to lie beneath it and hear "Go to Sleep" each nite. The wallart is actually two pieces from a Montreal company called Adzif strategically placed around the rim of the crib.
The dresser is part of Ikea's new childrens line Stuva and holds an owl lamp found at Urban Barn. This was the perfect homage to my Grandmother who loved owls. I like to think Grandma is watching over Abby as she sleeps. My sister-in-law gave Abby the framed crocheted at my baby shower, this was also created by my Grandma.
Thanks Shannon!

Really wonderful! Great job!
Really nice space for a whole family :)
Thanks for the nice comments! I wish I had also included the owl that my friend made for me using the Bumper fabrics. You can see "Tiny" here:http://www.facebook.com/kemptonjones#!/photo.php?fbid=233495773363519&set=pu.161045417275222&type=1&theater
Lovely idea! So cute and cozy. I'm originally from Toronto but moved to Hamilton a few years ago and my boyfriend and I have been discussing moving back. My issue has always been that we could not have kids in most of the spaces we could afford in Toronto, but this makes me have faith so maybe I'll have to reconsider! Thanks.
