Not only did Crystal update this room from a nursery to a young girl's room, we think it can last through the teen years with few other major changes. Crystal shares: We wanted something girly and vibrant when we changed my daughters room from a nursery to her big girl bedroom.
I quickly found out that furniture and custom fabric work was expensive so I set out to DIY as much as possible myself.
I used Craigslist, garage sales, eBay and my own handiwork for most of the items in her room and to lower cost. I'm really proud of how it turned out and best of all my daughter loves it. She's so proud that when we have overnight guests she offers to bunk with her brother so our guests can sleep in her "Princess room".
Thanks Crystal! Readers, see more of Anna's room including the "before" state as a nursery on Crystal's blog, The Weekend Homemaker.

I love this. Sweet and beautiful. I love when people embrace "girly" if that is the inclination of the child. It's not a dirty word! :)
I love the little bird drawer pulls!
