My favorite element in the room is the silhouette prints by my friend, Sarah of Truly Smitten. She incorporated my 2 colors (green and fuschia) seamlessly and the prints are just the perfect addition to the nursery!!
Another favorite element is the alphabet print. I was obsessed with the BINTH alphabet poster before i was ever even pregnant. Unfortunately, at $85, it was over budget...so I found this alternative on etsy!
Crib + Dresser --> Walmart
Blanket/Pillow/Art --> Etsy and graphic designer friend
Bookshelf --> a craigslist find! (ikea)
Chandelier --> Urban Outfitters
Rug --> Target
Stroller --> eBay!
and the list goes on and on!
We think Audrey is going to love her room - it is a warm, fresh space that is feminine without being "girly" and modern without being cold. Excellent job and best wishes for many happy times in the nursery.
Thanks, Jiye!

That is a lovely room!
Small quibble, though: it's a room-on-a-budget story, and you ignored the most expensive item in the photos, the eames chair (or is it chairs?).
And ebay or not, that does not look like an inexpensive stroller to me!
wait wait..let me defend myself!
the eames chair was a craigs list find for $360 and it was a combo bday/xmas/push present!! hubbie knows i've been eyeing it for years...literally.
and the stroller is the quinny buzz (orig $600)..purchased new one on ebay during live.com sale for $270 shipped!
we are major bargain hunters!

Beautiful room! I love the silhouette prints...Gorgeous!
Love, love, love the prints above the crib.
great job! Love the palette, love the wall color!
the chandelier will be a huge hazard as a child grows - first, the exposed cord. Second - do not ever let her have any balls in her room! My dd loves balls and I can't put a chandelier in her room because of that, she's stuck with a primitive fixtures until she learns that balls are not allowed in the room :-)
It's a lovely room, whatever the budget. The prints and the palette really make it work. And I do love those cribs. I sort of wonder if you'll miss having a rocking chair in there, but that's really your call. (And easily remedied.)
A lovely nursery - the color palette is wonderful for a little girl. My son has the same alphabet print from Sycamore Press (Etsy) hanging in his nursery. All the best with your new little one!
adorable! i wish they had all those new modern cribs at walmart when i was pregnant and doing my nursery!
looks great!
I commend you for your taste in color and style. You've got a great room for your little one to grow into and with.
Classy.
Love your nursery! Love even more that it's one for "real people". I can't understand paying those outrageous designer prices.
And despite my needlessly snarky comment about the stroller, I love the room and love the beige walls.
this is beautiful.
I love your room! And I just wanted to point out that the alphabet print was designed by Stephanie Ford and letterpress printed by Sycamore Street Press. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this! I loved your chandelier, and we've been looking for one for our baby girl's room, who's due in 7 weeks. I looked yours up, which I loved, and found another one on Urban Outfitter's stuff which is even more perfect. You have ended my looong chandelier search, thank you so much!
Everything looks fabulous!!
I have that same chandelier from UO in my boys' room.
And Jiye - is this the same Jiye from Chicago whose wedding album I designed a few years ago?? If so, congrats on your little girl and the beautiful nursery!
(and if not, what a coincidence!)
lacey_m: i definitely wanted a rocker but we already had the sofa bed and couldn't fit another chair into the room. plus..all the rockers i liked were super $$! im gonna try to make do with the sofa bed. we'll see...:)
badjuju: so glad you found a chandelier you like!
pyjammy: yes! it's me! :) hope you are well too!
I love the details like the birds above the frames and lightswitches -- and the more I see the Walmart crib in action, the more I like it. (Go Etsy!)
Well done.
:)
Lovely room! Love the colors, it's both girly and serene. I was very tempted by that crib, but I was given the Nurseryworks Loom crib as a gift. And I'm so impressed by your score on the Quinny Buzz, I'd love one of those but it's out of our budget. (And I hadn't heard of that sale.)
Beautiful!!! Great job on the room, the colors work together so well. I never would have thought of that paint color(identical to my bedroom color) for a bay's room, but it looks perfect. Audrey is also a beautiful name, it was high on my list for my daughter.
i'm in love with this whole room. you did such a good job! what paint color is that?
kaneeneenie: thanks!! the paint color is Benjamin Moore AC-32 Pismo Dunes.
I've been struggling to make a decision on a crib, but I think your pics have sold me on this one.
What did you use for a crib skirt? Also, can you pass along the name of the Etsy seller who did the quilt? I love how you did the bedding. I'm trying to steer clear of a whole bedding set since I don't want to use a bumper.
Thanks for sharing!
war_eagle: im so glad to be of help! i got most of my ideas from other people's nursery pics too! :)
i got the crib skirt from baby gap home. i added the link to it but I got it in the fuschia color, not blue. i got it on clearance at a store for around $10. you might want to try calling around to see if any stores still have it. i almost gave up on finding a crib skirt and was just going to get a plain, white one but i found this one!

the blanket was done by EllaJeanGifts on etsy. robin is so sweet and was wonderful to work with. She actually said she could make a matching bed skirt with the same Amy Butler fabric but it ended up being a little over budget for us. But if you decide to do that, I'm sure it will look lovely! Here's the link to her store!

i love your color palette..it's a breath of fresh air.
It doesn't really look like a kid's room.
It looked like the room was more of Mommy's taste than that of a child.
Don't get me wrong, It looks like a great room for an adult, but it is a bit staid for a child.
I can't wait till it is littered with plastic toys.
as my name is also audrey, i may be a bit biased, but this is a sweet room. it has a bit of whimsy to it, but will easily transition with her as she grows. wish i had had a nursery this awesome!
I have to say, I love this room, and I think it's hilarious that people commented on how it's more mom's taste than child's. How on earth are we to know what a baby's taste in interior decor would be? Children's rooms are always ultimately designed by their parents, and this one is stylish and modern. One concern I have, though, is the danger of the electric cord from that very cute chandelier- it could become a problem when she is mobile.
Lovely room.
jiye! the room is fabulous!
LOVE this room. Where did you get the print of the little girl, I have been searching Etsy and can't find it. Does your friend have a website for the other two pieces you have hanging over the crib?
where is everyone seeing a stroller? there are only 5 pix and none of them have strollers.
anyway, lovely room!!!!

The decorations are indeed really nice and now I have pretty much a good idea about how I will decorate my son`s room when he will arrive. I even bought a special car for him, from ford lincoln mercury dealers.
