I wanted a room that would be gender neutral with a Vintage mixed with Urban feel (If that makes sense). We don't know the sex of our child, but even if we did I doubt we would have been very traditional pink/blue decorators.
I was inspired by years of stalking Ohdeedoh and Etsy, along with some items that were picked up at Goodwill and Ikea early in my pregnancy.
My husband and I couldn't agree on a wall color - he wanted bright and fun and I wanted soft and calm. We decided to mix the two with Sweet Vibrations green from Benjamin Moore and Elephant Skin from Behr, and he painted every other wall each color.
The wall alphabet was an Etsy purchase from a vintage book that was missing the Z, so I purchased various Z's and painted them since they ended up right above our second-hand crib. The mobile used branches from our wedding that I painted and then hung mercury glass bird ornaments on them that I purchased after Christmas on discount.
The rocking chair is from a boutique in Green Bay, manufactured by Chicago Textile in Orbit Poppy print. The book case is from Ikea and the Woodchuck print is from Society 6. The framed pieces of art are sale frames that were painted by me and filled with various scrap booking papers. Lastly, the Where the Wild Things Are mobile was an Etsy find.
