Barrett is still on his way, but we bet he'd hurry up if he knew he had this creative room waiting for him. Lisa shares: I scoured the internet, including Ohdeedoh for inspiration for starts to get a rough idea for a general feeling I wanted to bring to the room! Then I made several idea boards until this one felt right...especially to my husband! He usually has no desire to give his input until it was a BOY nursery!
It is a combination of old and new and many treasures were hunted for which is always the time consuming part but the fun part! I wanted it to be an unexpected and unique space that was very fun and cheery!!
The green chair is a mid-century antique find that I had reupholstered (not free of headaches!). The chair is actually a rocker even though it doesn't look like it. The sheep rocker, I am embarrassed to say, landed on my front porch 4 months after we were married. We have now been married 7 years...I guess I had to have it although I am glad I did as the seller is now out of business. The wall color is Behr: Porpoise. The gray furniture is Ikea as well as the puppy dog tails on the wall.
The mobile was handmade by a friend and I incorporating balloons and yarn dipped in a solution similar to decoupage. The rug is DwellStudio. The bedding is custom designed by myself and most of it made by my Mom, including the "B" pillow. The "You are getting very sleepy" sign is from Sycamore Street Press. The gazelle on the wall is from Anthropologie. The drum lamp in the corner is from CB2.com and the dog lamp can be found by googling "Yellow dachsund lamp" as several sellers offer it. The red mirror, yellow side table, record album covers and all additional treasures on the shelf and wall are just that...vintage treasures hunted for one by one with love.
I wish you all could come sit in the room with me...it is a very happy place!
Thanks Lisa! Readers, see even more of Barrett's room at York Design.

White Enamel Flatwa...
What a super cool room for your little guy! Great job on the mobile and love the paint color.
Oh! I tried and tried to buy that rug, but it wasn't available anywhere. It looks great in your room.
I love the Jenny Lind crib. Was that purchased new? I see so many on Craigslist for under $50 that I would love to purchase and paint, but I worry about the drop sides. I'm sure there is a way to fix the sides, rendering the drop-sides immobile and, therefore, safe, so I was wondering which way you went.
I really love this room. Such a cheerful and thoughtfully put together space. Good job :)
Great room, I love all the colors! I've been eyeing that rug for a very long time but I wanted to see it in a "real" room, so thanks for sharing!
Great room, I'm crazy for the chair!!
Love the nursery. It is lovely. Where did you get your fabrics? I have been hunting everywhere for good fabric with no luck.
oh i LOVE this, great work!!
What a wonderful space - lucky Barrett! LOVE the rug - wish I could find it too.
keeperrox, From the looks of the photos, they've purchased a newer Jenny Lind with stationary sides.
As for CraigsList, it's illegal now for people to sell drop sides. A lot of the crib listings for my area on CL have been taken down because of that fear.
You can however get a crib immobilizer kit

I would buy a new one though. I understand being thrifty...I'd cut corners on other things.
I love the mobile! I wish there was a tutorial!
Maybe my favorite Ohdeedoh nursery!
I second the previous post-would love to know what you used to make that mobile!!! Beautiful and happy room!
I think I found how to make the balls, Jurgita

Where did that awesome bedding come from? I cannot place it but I love the fabric and have yet to find any that would work in my nursery as well as that.. :O
I should rephrase and say where did the fabric come from, since I noticed it was custom made bedding. ;)
Beautiful room - what's the source for the paint color?
We just painted our little guy's room this same color! I love this room, so perfect! And I love your boy's name too.
Thank you all for your kind kind words! Barrett arrived the day after the nursery hit Ohdeedoh’s site so it was a double great couple of days! Barrett sure does get wide eyed looking around in his room and he already loves the rocker!
To answer some of your inquiries~
The crib was purchased new and is not a dropside crib. I believe it is going to be discontinued soon. Just go to the Babies R’ Us website and search “Jenny Lind” and it is made by Davinci.
The rug. Ohhhhhhh that great Dwell rug. I chased it down too…for a long time! I was bound and determined to get it so I simply called Dwell right up. They have a great customer service department. I asked when it would be back in stock and explained how I have been hawk-eyeing their site and several of their vendors waiting for it to get back in stock (you can sign up on Dwell for a “back in stock” notice but I didn’t want to miss it again so I just called them directly). They kindly advised me (after sharing the up and coming re-stock date) to go ahead and BUY the rug at Designpublic.com and THEN my purchase order would be in the line up. When they get them back in stock…they first fill their PO’s and IF there are any left, it will show back in stock again. It worked like a charm!! I would call them first and get the latest and greatest but you can get it I bet!
That is the correct instructions for the yarn balls! They are messy but they are fun for multiple events! Christmas décor, party décor, etc!
The fabric is mainly from a wonderful fabric store in charming Fredericksburg, Texas called “Things In A Room” at 830.997.3388. The animal sheet print is “Central Park” by Kate Spain for MODA. The turquoise bird fabric is “Park Slope” Erin McMorris for FreeSpirit. The red and white polka dots are “It’s a Hoot” by MoMo for MODA Fabrics. The faux bois is cut off on the fabric I have left but seems to be “Ginseng” Joel Dewberry for Westmin…….? Westminster? The yellow and white Chevron is from Hancock fabrics.
Happy designing all!! Thank you again for your kind words! ~Lisa
First of all congratulations on your baby boy! Secondly, I love this room it's so unique, the colors are perfect together. The mobile is really neat! Thanks for your design ideas you have inspired me!
Congratulations! I love this nursery! It has definitely inspired me too. Where did you find your wire domes for the mobile?
Lovely room! I know you said the seller is out of business, but do you remember who made the sheep rocking horse?
