My Room: Beatrice & Ambrose

Greenville, SC

Beatrice made room for her brother Ambrose and their mom Lily put on her design cap to re-envision this room for two: This little nursery used to be very, very girly. But along with a new brother, Bea's room got a makeover! I painted one wall blue and painted an antique twin bed bright red. This room is filled with meaningful family pieces for decoration. For example, above the crib and bed I placed cross-stitch work done by my mother. The quilt on Bea's bed is made from her newborn receiving blankets. The child's painting is one I did a lifetime ago. The lamp was my mother's. I hung a festive garland above the crib to welcome Ambrose and filled the shelf with favorite toys. The nightstand by the closet keeps blocks in the top drawer-- but my silly toddler usually has them all over the floor.

Thanks Lily! Readers, see Beatrice's room in its former girly glory at Tiny Yellow Bird.
