This is one of the most Etsy-orized rooms we've ever seen! Jessica describes how her daughter's beautiful room came together: Our sweet and scrumptious daughter is adopted and we only had roughly 8-weeks to plan for her grand arrival. When I was given the green flag to start designing the baby room I had always dreamed of decorating I went straight to Ohdeedoh for inspiration. So, I'd like to call Charley's room a giant Ohdeedoh-inspired-explosion! 75% of the room - the design and colors, art work and even the quilt - was found from highlighted artists and room tours found right here!

I knew when I started brainstorming the room that I wanted it to be more "kid" than "baby" (if that makes sense), not have a specific color theme (more so a good mix of all) and be a multi-functional room that will fit our daughter's growing-up and our (Lord willing) growing family.

I knew I wanted a bed in the room to be multi-functional: a changing table, a place for me to nap when Charley is, a place to cuddle and read and a set-up way to add a second child to this room (assuming Charley will be old enough to sleep in a bed by then). I feel like the daybed was the best purchase made and has proved to be so useful and lovely to have.

As you can tell there are beautiful recessed shelving that my dad built right into the wall, but along with that I bought old boxes at an antique store (same place I found the dresser and chandelier for $200 total!) and added casters to the bottom. Now, I have places to store diapers and wipes and loads of toys.

I had an absolute blast finding amazing pieces on Etsy - the artwork, the amazing homemade baby quilt, the custom sheet on the crib, the "hooray!" sign, the mobile and even the globe that also serves as a lamp. Etsy and Ikea with a little bit of antique shopping did me right!

One last note: I found several mobiles that I adored and was prepared to buy a light wood, whale one that I just adored. My mom told me that a colorful mobile is a must and I'm so glad I trusted her. I can lay Charley in her crib at any point in the day and she will smile and coo at her colorful mobile for quite some time. Between it and the fan in our bedroom the child is set!
