Chloe's nursery all began with her birch tree niche. We opened up the wall containing a 30" wide closet door to allow for her changing table/closet/dresser niche. And what a niche it is! Kristin tells us more about this lovely room&hellip
After painting out & changing the hardware on her dresser, that was from her paternal grandmother, we installed a laminate countertop from IKEA. This has been an ideal surface for changing diapers, having conversations and getting dressed. Not to mention it's easy to wipe down. As little clothes hang on little hangers, small closet rods were attached to the underside of the counter on either side of the dresser. And once the over scaled butterflies were hung from the ceiling, Chloe's favorite spot in her room was complete.
Her classic Jenny Lind crib was made modern by the use of the graphic Oilo Studio bedding and the large scale mirror that we attached the silver butterflies to. All of the higher ticket items in her room are things that can easily transition to other areas of the house. There are not many "Baby" specific items that she will grow out of in the next year or two. This gives her room the sense of sophistication with little pops of whimsy thrown in.
Thanks Kristin!

adore the wallpaper, love tree (duh, live in the forrest)
Sophisticated! Very cool.
I love how you turned the closet into a little dressing area. The whole room is lovely.
I have been looking for birch tree wallpaper all over. Please do tell where its from!
Love the closet niche! Is the dark color black or dark brown? If black, where did you get the rug? Thanks for sharing!
Thanks everyone! The wallpaper is Woods by Cole and Son. I got it through Lee Jofa, but have found numerous sources online. Anthropologie even had it for awhile...
The area rug is composed of two styles of carpet tiles from FLOR. Which has already been a blessing! The color is right in between chocolate brown and black.
that is the best idea for utilizing closet space for a baby's room that i have seen - very smart! i dream of living in a house with closets that size!!
Love the silver butterflies - very cool!
so chic! Love it. One of my favorites.
Very nice! I love that chair!
So sweet and unique!!
I like it a lot. The closet is very clever.
But I really think you should reconsider the placement of that large mirror over the crib. My father is a structural engineer and he told me (when we considered something similar) that there was no installation that was safe enough for a heavy object over a crib. Wasn't worth the risk.
I'm absolutely in LOVE with this nursery...it's just so well done! What a lovely room, perfect for a baby, but it will grow with her so well. What a very lucky little girl
Is the wall color lavender? It looks exactly like the color I've been trying to find for my walls. Can you tell the info on the paint/wall color please?
The paint color is Sherwin Williams Individual White... It is a light lavender with a silvery grey undertone.
