Meredith wrote in to share her niece's ladylike room: The theme for this room was "thank heaven for little girls" because my niece is the oldest of 4 and the only girl. She just got her own room and we were taking it from its former use as a master bedroom to a little girl's space. I wanted to include several specific things that every little lady needs: a vanity, personalized touches, play area, toy storage, cute bedding, and some frills.
We didn't buy ANYTHING new for this space! Everything was re-purposed, left over from other projects, collaborated between my craft supplies and my sisters, etc. The best part of this room was the customized silhouette that we traced onto the wall. It's my 6-year-old niece in one of her classic stances. We traced her, and filled it in with magnetic paint so she can "dress" herself with clothes clipped up with magnets. I wanted to do her room for her because she's my favorite little girl! Plus, I only have a little boy and wanted to try a girly space. It took two days and was so fun!
Thanks Meredith and Deirdre!
