Beatrix Potter fans take note of this lovely room which is more of a tribute than a theme. Cristina tells us about it: I was looking for ideas to decorate Evangelina's room and stumbled across the website Muralsyourway.com. Once I saw the Beatrix Potter murals, I knew it would be perfect for the large walls in her nursery.
From there everything else just fell together. I found Beatrix Potter crib bedding from someone on Ebay and even found some knobs on the dresser that are Peter Rabbit themed. I tried not to go overboard with the theme.
I hired a carpenter to install the chair rail and asked him to make a frame for the Peter Rabbit picture that hangs over the changing table. It's a little larger than I thought it would be, but he made it for so much cheaper than if I would have ordered it from a framing place. The picture slides in and out so when she outgrows Peter Rabbit we can still use it for something else.
My biggest problem with the room is the picture window. I had to install a battery operated blackout shade, but still haven't found an affordable way to hide the shade without hiding the shape of the window. So for now it sort of just looks like a projector screen above the window.
Thanks Cristina!

I had a set of Beatrix Potter sheets growing up and I loved looking at all the characters before falling asleep. This room is so lovely and girly, without too much in the way of pink or ruffles. Great job- and good thinking on the moulding frame!
That is a most whimsical mural. May Evangelina travel the world of BP...
