Meri's enthusiasm for her daughter's lovely room is contagious. Here she is to show you around: Hello and welcome to Gigi's room. I have never loved a project as much as setting up my now 10-week-old's nursery. It was and continues to be a true labor of love.
The crib and changing table were hand me downs. I just spruced up the changing table a bit with new knobs from Anthropologie. I knew I wanted a yellow and white room with art and small bits of pink to make it homey. The rug is my fav. It's the Dead End Rug from CB2. Not crazy about the name but the rug is really modern and fun for a babies room. I found the abacus at the Rose Bowl all beaten up. I cleaned it up and now I can't wait for Gigi to be able to play with it. The art above her crib is a Mckenzie Thorpe Litho called Field of Dreams. I'm sure everyone recognizes the Expedit. I love changing around all the cubbies and finding little things to put in it.
It's filled with little memories from my own room growing up and flea market and thrift finds. The tapestry in the corner I made on a homemade loom from left over fabric and ribbon from my own baby clothes that my grandma made me. The dress on the dresser was mine as a little one. My grandma made it for me. It was my favorite. I'm so excited to put Gigi in it and show her great grandma, Charlotte (89) and still a creative powerhouse!!!

Shaw's Original Fir...
What a lovely room! I really like the rug.
Very sweet room. I love the rocking horse.
You probably know this but pretty much all drop sided cribs have been recalled in the US. The CPSA recommends not using drop sided cribs at all but if you do, permanantly affixing it so the drop side is no longer functional and a danger to your little one.
such a sweet room! playful and airy and light.
lovely! I love that the room seems to be really functional, as well as stylish!
I love the way you styled the expidet, it's much more beautiful when done right! Her room is lovely, along with the history of the items. What a lucky girl.
very sweet! love that rug especially and foot stool. when your sweetheart gets older you might have to watch the artwork being kinda low! :)
I never really liked the look of the expidet until now! Awesome job!
Oooh, which baskets are those in the Expedit? We just got the same size one, and those baskets look perfect! Checked the blog and didn't see any info. there (sorry if I missed something).
Beautiful room! Do you mind sharing your sources for those woven baskets in the expedit? We are looking for some to put in ours. Thank you!
Thanks so much everyone. I got the baskets at Marshalls. They are called Eco baskets I think. Eco something and they fit perfectly. I use them in her closet too.
Crazy! My husband's beloved grandmother was Gigi Maxine! Lovely name :)
I love this room! Beautifully done! I also love the Gigi soundtrack! It was a comical musical, and Gigi was adorable.
What a great room!!! I love the colors. I especially like the shelf type thing above the changing table with the books and frames. I would LOVE to know where you got that because I am interested in the same idea! Thanks so much!
The book holder above the changing table is from ikea. They have it in a few different colors. We put a large and small one together. Thanks!
