Inspiration, creativity and love is all Cinthia needed to create this charming room for her daughter: I got pregnant at 18 years old, therefore never had any experience in making a home my own, since I lived with my parents. I was inspired by Apartment's Therapy mission statement, "Creating this home doesn’t require large amounts of money or space. It requires inspiration, connection to resources and motivation to do something about it.", as soon I read that I looked into ideas all over Ohdeedoh, and put something together.
Creating Giselle's room was a new project for me and my boyfriend but a fun one. We painted her walls three times and we were finally satisfied with BEHR's Cool Jazz color. We were also on a very small budget. I am very proud with the outcome we have going so far; we are still in the process of fixing things here and there.
Giselle loves her room, and that is what makes me happy the most.
Thanks Cinthia!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Love the little girl decal w/the butterflies!
Could this be any cuter? No, it could not.
I wonder what Banksy would think?
I also wonder what Banksy would think, shouldn't he get some sort of kickback?
i also love the decal with the butterflies! great job!
adorable, imaginative, whimsical! i love it!
I did not get a change to give any credit to Bansky, because I wrote a very small description of the room, I didn't even think it would have gotten picked to be on the website, and I though if it did get picked, I would get a chance to go into more description. So sorry banksy, but yes you are a great inspiration in all of our home!
Love the color! My 3 year old would love this room. Where are your book ledges from?
So adorable and REAL. Well done. I think a lot of rooms on Ohdeedoh feel staged and too perfect. It's much harder to design a room around all those plastic toys your kid really plays with, rather than one filled with vintage aesthetically pleasing toys your kid has no interest in.
Banksy would think it was cool and would be happy you used a likeness of his art to inspire a young mind.
Thank you all for all the positive feedback! @Megan, thank you so much for pointing that out, I really thought I would get some negative feedback because of all the "plastic toys" in my daughters room, lol!
@Dyskrasia, they are picture ledges from IKEA.
Cute room and great graphic.
"It's much harder to design a room around all those plastic toys your kid really plays with, rather than one filled with vintage aesthetically pleasing toys your kid has no interest in."
I think you mean to say that the plastic toys your children play with. We play with wooden toys just fine.
I agree with all of the comments. This room makes my heart happy.
That is my favourite Banksy piece. Love that you used it in your daughter's room. Where is that framed piece from? Great job!
The frame is from target, it is a very simple and cheap 18x24 frame, but looks very good!
I love this room. It is a happy place and that is the most important bit :)
JudiAU - I'm sure your kids play with wooden toys and are happy with them. But, in my experience, if you gave a kid the choice between bright colorful plastic or wood, they are going to chose the plastic hands down. It's like their bling. Also, it's hard to have all wooden toys when you are on a "very small budget", as this room was.
Where did you get the love pillow from?

So lovely!
I love this room too! The decal is so sweet and the colors are beautiful. (And not to jump into the wooden/plastic minefield, but we have both wooden and plastic toys and in my experience, kids like them both -- to me, the beauty of this room is that it looks like a place your daughter can really play and live in.)
Megan in AZ, you took the word right out of my mouth. real. this room is so adorable and so real. you can feel the love and comfort that has been built up in this room for this little girl. i love the dr. seuss quote on the dresser! great idea.
wow great job to you and your boyfriend!!
Thank you all for all the great comments, I really appreciate it, it really is scary posting pictures up, not knowing how the criticism will be. Thank you :D
I love the dresser! Did you put decals to make the words?
Lovely room! Where is the framed art from? I know you were asked this earlier, but you only responded about the frame, not the artwork - the silhouette picture with the girl and boy on a hill with a heart above
@Yvette it was a wall decal I purchased on etsy, I ended up using it for the dresser, since the wall had enough stuff on it.
@momnipotent I purchased a print on etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/daveyknew84, but it's originally from banksy.
@Carlafelix Sorry I didn't read you question right :P, It's a print I purchased at http://www.etsy.com/shop/daveyknew84, but originally it's from banksy.
I really like this room. I always sort of roll my eyes at some of the rooms posted on here that are spotless and have no toys showing other than one perfect rocking horse. I always assume there's a huge pile of toys hiding in the hallway waiting until the photos are over.
This room makes me smile.
that is so totally awesome (and functional!). i love it!
Very sweet.
I think the room is adorable. I never made a comment about the toys in the room.
My comment was about OP's assumption that wooden toys don't get played with. I hear that a lot and it simply isn't true.
Thanks!
I agree with JudiAU. We have extremely minimal plastic toys (only a small number for the bath) and my daughter loves all of her wood toys/wood play kitchen/vintage/and handmade dolls just fine.
Hi, beautiful room for a girl! It is functional and not too "staged" yet still very suitable for a little girl! Love it! May I know where did you buy the wall decal of the Little Girl? I'm expecting a baby girl in August and in the mids of decorating her room. I will most appreicate your help!
I bought it on ebay, I can't remember the link, but I searched all over the web for banksy wall decals, ebay had the best prices, and thank you for your kind words.
Cgmendez: This is a beautiful room! You should be extremely proud of having conceptualized and translated Banksy's street art to such a stunning wall decal. Very impressive.
Nferrera & anna1287: Srsly? Before diving in, it would be nice if you'd do a bit of research. Banksy explicitly states that his work can be mimicked by any person, so long as the person isn't making a profit from his work. I

I think Banksy would be totally down with this. And riding on ValerieKnox's illustrious coat-tails...if you didn't want to spend the money on a decal (thus helping somebody make a profit), you could always do the transparency-projector-tracing thing. His pieces are so simple, it would be an easy project.
I love this room! Such a sweet, hopeful sort of space. I always wanted an attic-style bedroom when I was kid - the sloped ceilings are so cozy.
I was going to say what ValerieKnox said! jeez ppl. This room is AWESOME! Banksy can't really sell his work since he prefers to be anonymous. Although, it seems the real reason is he doesn't want to.
Thank you so much for all the nice comments!
such a sweet environment! i love the combination of etsy finds, contemporary art, and the plastic/character bling we all know a lot of kids enjoy. and i love that you didn't hide your plastic hamper;) great job!!
Thank you :D
