Jack's nursery feels so fresh and is an prime example of how using a theme with restraint can give it personality while still leaving plenty of room to grow. Joannah (due with Jack 1/24!) shares: We started with a 9x11 sized room that we never knew what to do with. With a life lived on or near water, we knew we wanted a sailing themed nursery for our baby boy, but also wanted something more modern.
Our parents provided the inspiration of two brass anchor hooks and a talented member of our family painted the walls and the rest came together from Ikea (crib, dresser, rattan basket), Etsy.com (inital prints, nautical thermometer, whale decal), Target (all frames) and our imaginations.
With family being a strong influence in our lives, we infused framed prints of our family members on the water in to the room to add a sense of nostalgia to counter the modern feel of the room.
Thanks Joannah!

Do you know what crib that is? And is that a trundle under it? Thanks!
What a great room! Thanks for letting us have a peek.
Thanks! The crib is an IKEA Gulliver crib and the piece underneath it is a drawer on wheels, also from IKEA. All the linens are in there. We love the room, thanks for looking it over!
I also should note that my talented cousin is an artist and helped inspire our stripes. She has a website: http://cfodesign.com/
Any idea on the product name of the IKEA drawer on wheels? I cannot find it on their website. Thanks. Love the room :)
Love it! My first thought was, "This looks like a Jack's room". Well done!
I too would love to know about the drawer that fits under the crib! I didn't know they had one. I'm probably a little *too* excited about it. I love the room- lots of Ikea but it doesn't jump out at you. Very nice!
Me too, what is the name of the wheeled box?
Really love the room. I would also like to know about that wheeled box!
The wheeled box's name is NOGA!

Not sure if it's available in America though...
The box under the crib is Ikea NOGA and is available in the US but is being discontinued (I don't think it's on their website) I was told on the weekend when I was in there and picked up a couple myself - they have been reduced from $50 to $20 so an amazing deal at the moment but be quick!!!
btw is the changing pad cover from 'land of nod'? I've been looking at those - how does it wash and dry in dryer? Did it shrink at all? It's a little big for my pad but I thought (was hoping) it would probably shrink from putting it in the dryer?
Love this room! Well done. Can I ask where the rug is from?
also, the white/off-white paing color, stripped crib sheet and the decorative pillow in the crib? couldn't find a reference for where those are from.
thanks!
this is fabuolous!! where is the bedding/cushion from?
Nice, clean, uncluttered room for little Jack. Lucky boy!
The bedding/cushion can be found @:

Sorry to not respond, Jack was born the day after this post went live.
To solve the under the crib drawer, I got it in the IKEA store and understand that it is now being discontinued...
The rug is from CSN Rugs and is wool and very plush, I was really pleased with it.

The bedding can indeed be found at Oilo Studio. I loved the crib skirt too, but the IKEA crib was too low to accomodate so I returned it.
The changing pad cover is from the Land of Nod and it did shrink but is still a little big. But I just love the color.
There is also a small whale decal that didn't make the site that I got from Etsy from Little Lion Studio.
I hope this information is helpful and thank you so much for all the great feedback!
I loved that wall so much that we *copied* it...but in 2 shades of orange instead. Thanks for the inspiration (and congratulations on the birth of your son!)
