Ja'Naya's fresh room is a terrific balance between sophistication and fun. Her mom Jennae describes why creating this haven for her daughter was so important: My daughter was diagnosed with leukemia in January, and my husband and I moved our family closer to Atlanta so we could, in turn, be closer to her doctors. In the process, we wanted to create a special bedroom that would be a haven for her. A place where she could relax, have fun and be stimulated.
I am also very passionate about the environment and eco-friendly decorating. My daughter's diagnosis compounded this, so the room was designed to be as eco-friendly as possible.
We incorporated low-VOC paint, repurposed, refurbished and recycled furniture and decor, organic bedding and textiles, a sustainably-made wool rug and more. The end is a vibrant room perfect for a growing girl. It's not so childish that we'll be forced to change it anytime soon, and she loves spending time there!
Thanks Jennae and Ja'Naya! Readers, you can see much more of Ja'Naya's beautiful room at Green Your Decor, Jennae's blog.

I love the bright and happy fuchsia walls.
Get well soon, Ja'Naya!
I'd love to know where the rug came from!!
Great job! I love the colors. Your daughter is beautiful and I pray she continues to get better. It's nice to see a fellow Gwinnettian spotlighted. ;o)
I love this room. As one of the sponsers, I was so excited to be a part of this project. Jennae's blog post really shows that creating a space that's tailored to your child's personality can be a such an awesome way to show how much you love them...
A pretty room to grow in--get well, beautiful Ja'Naya!
Thanks everyone for the well wishes!
