My Room: Jonty Sydney, Australia

Here's another striped wall stunner to take in, shared by Jess: Jonty's room is my favourite in the whole house. It's the one room where everything just "works" and everything has a place. I often just stand in the doorway looking in at it, wishing it was MY room!

It's full of second-hand and handmade treasures mixed in with some good old Ikea favourites. Special mention to Lila Frances on Etsy for the personalised wire hanger. It's one of my favourite things.

@Pooh - the rug is from a little (but super cheap) interiors place in Berry in South NSW. At only $40 it was a bargain! I think the Ikea one is pretty similar though.

@explanationrequired - the Giraffe was another bargain find from a local kids store www.mymessyroom.com.au in their bargain bin for $10. But I have seen a lot of others on Etsy.

Mirror above the crib=accident waiting to happen. No, no, no.

Lovely colors. Adorable baby! I like that you put the changing pad on top of the bookshelf. Smart use of space. He's going to love getting into those cubbies and pulling himself up! Have fun.

Please move the mirror from over the crib to a lower place where your child can see himself while wandering around at his height. You will have to raise it periodically, but they love to see their image. Also if it fell, it has a shorter fall to the carpet, not the crib.

I have a very similar mirror hanging behind a bench that serves as a low toy shelf. Endless entertainment. It is so funny to see this--just a few days ago I started thinking about painting my daughter's room in stripes (except I'm thinking aqua and white) except I have to wait a while since we're renting. Love it!

what a precious room! question about the closet doors. i love the giraffe decal, but what did you use to make the one doors look frosted? did the giraffe decal come on a frosted background? we have the same mirrored sliding doors in our nursery and we're trying to find a cute and creative solution so the doors don't look so cold and tacky...
