We love diverse alphabet collections and this one amassed by Heidi is one of our favorites. She tells us more and lists plenty of resources for Lincoln's fun, fowl-themed room: I saw a nursery online right after I found out I was pregnant that had an "ABC" wall. I loved it and knew I wanted to do something similar if we were having a boy. I then came across an Owls by DwellStudio set and that was my 2nd piece of inspiration.
It's such a tiny room that I was nervous to make it too busy. I wanted it to be bold, but not overwhelming. We were also on a budget so I had to get creative! The dresser was purchased from a flea market and we did a major overhaul on it. The curtains and some of the art are homemade. We did this room for around $1,100 total. Here are all the details on where things were purchased and our budget breakdown:
Paint colors: Walls - Winter’s Day (Olympic Low VOC); Dresser - Swiss Chocolate (Valspar)
Furniture & Decor:
Crib - Babies R Us - $140
Dresser - Flea Market - $75
Knobs - Anthropologie - $36
Table - IKEA - $20 (Used from another room in our home)
Pendant Light - IKEA - $40 (Used from another room in our home)
Lamp - TJ Maxx - $40
Rug - Pier 1 - $100
Glider - CSN Baby - $400
Scripture Art - homemade with Target frame - $15
Curtains - homemade - $20
Crib Pillow - Target $10
Glider Pillow - Layla Grace - $36
Breathable Bumper - Babies R Us - $40
Crib Skirt - Target - $20
Crib Sheet & Changing Pad Cover - Design Public - $62
Changing Pad - WalMart - $20 (Gift from a friend)
Crib Mattress - Target - $80 (Gift from a friend)
Paint for walls & dresser - Lowes - $40
***Letters - Approx $80
***The letters for the ABC wall were purchased from all over. Some of the stores where they were purchased from are Michael’s, Pottery Barn Teen, Anthropologie, JoAnn’s, Kohl’s, Etsy, Pier 1, and more.
Thanks Heidi and Lincoln!

White Enamel Flatwa...
That is just amazing that you only spent $80 on the letters. I have a hard time finding unique ones that I like for under $10 each! Thanks for sharing!
The alphabet wall is fabulous!
LOVELY!bravo!
but i hope you would have done the same had it been a girl! :)
wonderful! so inspirational for me...i'm doing an alphabet theme in my kiddo's playroom and this wall is just perfect for that....
I have a similar wall but an still looking for more letters. I love the R, where did you get that one?
best alphabet wall i've seen. i can't believe it was so cheap too, all of the letters i find are so expensive!
great job and i agree, this would be just as great for a girl.
How do you like the breathable bumper? I'm thinking of using the white one in our future nursery, hoping it is a good compromise between hands and feet stuck in rails and suffocation prevention. . .
GREAT room! My favorite letter on the wall is the large Scrabble F. :)
Thanks for all the wonderful compliments!
About the boy/girl thing, I just like girly nurseries, so I probably would've done something in a different direction if we were having a girl. However, I think his room turned out fairly gender neutral in the end, and the ideas can definitely be used for a little girl!
The "R" came from Pottery Barn Teen, and it was on clearance.
Many of the letters were $2 or even less at craft stores, which left me room to spend a little more on some of them to make the wall more interesting. (The R, M, U, F, W)

I like the breathable bumper from a safety standpoint. My little one isn't here yet, so I can't speak to its function. After doing a lot of research on SIDS, we decided this was the best way for us to go. It looks great on the crib, and we're hoping it does the trick to keep our little guy from getting stuck. I've spoken to several moms who have used one and they all raved about them!
Beautiful room!
Regarding the breathable bumper: we are using one for our 6-month old who kept rolling around in her crib only to get her limbs stuck between the bars. The bumper has worked very well for us.
I love this wall! Where is the Scrabble F from?
very cute!
how do you like the glider? (there was a negative review on CSN site that it was poorly made)
I love the alphabet, you did a perfect job putting it all together! And the stuffed owls in the crib are SO cute! Also love the name Lincoln! Good choice!
The Scrabble letter is from http://www.greatbigstuff.com/home.html
Unfortunately, the first glider they sent me was damaged from shipping. The new one should be arriving any day. I love the feel & comfort of the chair, it's just leaning to one side because the glider parts on the bottom were damaged. When I contacted their customer service, they were beyond helpful & apologetic, so I'm hopeful that this will be a great chair.
I love this room.
Could you tell me the name of the glider, please?
Also, let us know how the next delivery turns out. I hope they come through for you guys.
By the way, after my first ultrasound I suddenly began referring to my baby as "he." Everyone kept pointing it out to me and after a while, though I don't really believe in such things, I decided that I must have somehow bonded with my baby via ultrasound and just "knew" he would be a boy. So, we named the baby Lincoln and Lincoln he was for a few months until the ultrasound last week when the tech revealed Lincoln is a "she". I still love that name.

They carry it at other stores, but this one offered free shipping.
That's so funny about the name! I was the opposite and was convinced this baby was a girl. I hadn't even considered boy names! My husband is the one who first fell in love with the name Lincoln, and then I started to really love it too. Now we've been calling him by his name since January, so I can't imagine it any other way.
