Jessica punched up the neutral walls in her daughter's room by adding a striped accent walls as well as pops of color in the room's details. She shares: As soon as I found out I was pregnant, all I could think of was planning the room! I knew I wanted something girly and modern with a touch of vintage. I also knew I wanted to avoid something too 'baby' so that the room could easily evolve as Lucy grew older.
I did the stripes on the wall first, followed by the pom poms and the rest grew from there. All of the furniture is reasonably priced (Walmart and Ikea) and the decor is a mix of thrift (some owl pieces, gold mirrors, gold frame), DIY (pom poms, wall art, crib skirt) and Etsy (pillows, hanger). My favorite pieces in this room are the 'Lucy' hanger with swimsuit, and the frame wall which features our hospital bracelets in a shadowbox, the horoscope from her birthday framed, and vintage gold mirrors.

very cute room! How do you like that glider? I have been considering, but have read mixed things on their site. Its a great price-point though.
Such a cute room! I love everything!
Thanks! I don't use the glider a lot now because she sleeps in a bassinet in our room still. It's very comfortable, but it's more a rocker than glider. The ottoman doesn't move. And sometimes the chair slides back on the carpet towards the wall when I rock.
Oh my gosh, I love this room! I was just looking at the top tours and this is my favorite!!
SO sweet! And very transition-able. Great job. Could I ask what paint color you used?
Adorable room! I'm planning the pink/orange/green thing for my daughter's room, too. Love the turquoise accents!
I love the stripes and where did you get that turquoise owl?!
The paint is Martha Stewart 'Sharkey Grey'. The stripes are Martha Stewart 'Lamb." I painted inside her closet Martha Stewart 'Enamelware." You can see pictures of the closet on my blog.
The turquoise owl is a bank from Urban Outfitters!
Oooh la la. My 4 year old wants a non-pink room now that she's a "big girl", and I love this! With the nuetral walls I can include pops of her favorite colors, without it looking like a circus room. I'm looking for a way I can use some faux bois in place of the stripes maybe?
