My Room: Marlowe & Brigid

Lake Worth, FL

These twins had the dream team putting this lovely room together and it shows. Kat shares: I'm a theatrical set designer and my husband is a technical director. I design the sets and he builds them -- which made us a great team when it came to executing the nursery for our girls, Marlowe and Brigid.

We figure we're one of the few couples out there who find out on Friday they're having twin girls and on Saturday buy blue paint. We knew we wanted a fun Florida room for our girls that was easy on the pink. (As a die-hard tomboy, the closest I could bring myself was a nice coral color as an accent.)

We used Ralph Lauren grass cloth we got in a trade for a stove we no longer needed. My husband Jeff (along with the girls' grandfather and uncle) custom made the wood trim. We bought the white dresser from a thrift store, refinished and distressed it.

Other DIY projects: Origami mobiles over both cribs, thumbprint family trees, surfboards, crib linens, lamps from Target covered with wallpaper.

The room is relatively small for two babies and doesn't have a closet, which is why virtually every piece in the room offers storage of some kind.

The girls are now a month old and seem to be enjoying the nursery thus far!
