We love seeing your shared offices/nurseries because this is such a common space solution in small homes. Here's the bedroom Olivia shares with her dad, Anthony's, office space. Mom Elizabeth describes: We started transitioning my hubby Antz's office in March and yesterday we had the final piece, our glider, delivered. The first step was removing the awful popcorn ceiling.
We got quotes as high as $800 so my husband sent in a sample to be tested for asbestos. It came back negative so he spent a weekend with water and scrapped away the ceiling. The room is tiny, 10' x 11' and Anthony is sharing his office with Olivia so it was a challenge to designate space for him. One of the smartest choices was to switch out an unused French door in our garage as her nursery door so we can peek in without disturbing her.
The first piece that inspired our nursery was the Sasquatch Music Festival Print by Invisible Creature. Once we had the color palette we ran with it. We designed the room to be gender friendly because we started the room before we knew we were having a girl. We added the pink features after we knew for sure. The artwork in the room is from my husband (*he's an artist*) and he also handmade her mobile which is us, our soon-to-be daughter Olivia, our dog Maxwell and our cat Lola using felt and pipe cleaners.
Another DIY project was we made the *Olivia* banner for her door when we couldn't find the perfect letters in stores. It was a fraction of the price and has a unique look.

Nomade Express Slee...
The Luca Glider is great- we bought it when I was pregnant. I used to nap in it every afternoon. Our son is now 2 1/2, and we still use it every night for stories.

I also love the rug and mobile! Great job! I have two very young daughters, and they would love this pretty room.
That room looks like a lot of fun. She'll always have cool stuff to look at!
I love the sparkly letters! I've been wanting to do something similar but I'm afraid of it looking too home-made. This came out so nicely.....would you mind sharing more info on that project?
Thanks for all the compliments, we really put alot of thought behind the design of the room. The circus letters were super easy but I am married to a brillant artist. He used foam board from Michaels and he stenciled out the lettering from our printer using a circus font we found on this site www.hostesswiththemostess.com. Then using an exacto knife we cut out the letters. I used fabric glue and Martha Stewart *the Queen* glitter in a tupperware dish and dipped the letters. Let dry over night and using thick thread we strung the letters together. It took like 20 minutes max to make :)
i noticed you have an IKEA hanging storage thingy in blue. we have a couple in orange we are using in our nursery. how did you hang yours? we hung ours up with a small hook screwed into the ceiling and used fishing line and looped it not on the velcro strap, but the actual netting. we hadnt put anything in it yet and when we did a couple of days ago, it just doesnt seem as sturdy as we'd like for it to be. just curious if you had a better idea!
ah- foam board! thanks for the info....i can't wait to try it :)
Awesome! We have the same bedding - don't you love it? We also have the glider in orange!
