My Room: Violet

Springdale, AR

The pieces in Violet's room have both history and a personal touch. Stacie shares: This is Violet's happy nursery. Most of the white bedroom furniture was mine as a little girl, so I love sharing it with her.

The red dresser was found in a yard sale and refinished with red paint and new drawer knobs. My favorite find is the brass octopus lamp that I found in a barn sale (yes a barn sale) in Northwest Arkansas. The crib skirt is made from Alexander Henry fabric, and I made the curtains from Kaffe Fassett fabric.

Her nursery is filled with artwork from my favorite etsy artists, AshleyG and Blackoutwell. The stuffed owls and posters are from my own shop, Gingiber.

I am still on the hunt for the perfect (affordable) rug and great accent pillows.

The most difficult part of putting this nursery together is that the room is small, and was painted a milk chocolate brown from top to bottom when me moved in. It took several coats of Martha Stewart's Vintage Map paint to transform the room.

Thanks Stacie! Readers you can find Stacie at Gingibersnap blog and Gingiber Etsy shop.
