These cherry blossoms are so pretty, we can practically smell them! Christin shares her daughter's room: After having a boy first, who is SUCH a boy's boy, I wanted to create a pretty space for our little girl. With touches of woodland creatures and nature inspired elements, it feels sweet, girly and a little bit fairy tale like. I included vintage family pieces with brand new touches to give the room a fresh pop.
DIY projects:
• branch with cherry blossoms made of felt, fabric marker and pearl beads
• "V" made of white corduroy and pink cotton, stuffed
• refinished the furniture:
• dressers painted first aqua to match the wall then white washed over, then new hardware
• green table spray painted (on top of a paper stencil I cut and glued on) then sanded to look aged
• 'Cinderella' paper bunting & mini bunting, cut scrapbook paper and sewn onto ribbon, white paper birds cut out and added after hanging
• paper globes from a tutorial by Heather Bailey
• tissue paper pom poms (search martha stewart for an easy tutorial)
• painted picture frames and mirror
Second hand, family collectibles, or vintage finds:
• crib
• all art prints
• V letter block
• yellow bunny
• metal kitty hook, dragonflies and thermometer key
• books
• porcelain figurines
• Holly Hobby pictures
Pretty & New:
• curtains & valance, cherry blossom pillow, crib bumper: Restoration Hardware
• all hardware: Anthropologie

Nomade Express Slee...
This post kind of snuck in! It's lovely. I used to have the little wall hangings next to the bookcase. I don't remember all of them or what was on them. I remember the one with the girl and flowers and one of a girl with a lamb. My name is Mary so I always thought they were "How does your garden grow" and "Mary had a little lamb"
I wish I still had those now.
Strike that...I clicked to see more of the room and they aren't exactly what I thought. Very similar though!
I really like the blue on the wall where the crib is.
Its really pretty. I am surprised by the number of nurseries posted on this site that have cribs with bumper pads. They're widely known
(where I live) as a big NO due to the dangers of possible increase of sids by using them. Anyone else noctice this?
Macshack, I would say the ratio of photos of cribs with bumpers and those without is pretty even.
I just clicked on the "Top Tours" link and the first page alone is 3 to 3.
One of the things I like about his site is that they do feature a lot of cribs without bumpers. Most people and designers feel like cribs look incomplete or not as pretty without them. A lot of posts on this site prove otherwise.
thank you
I just wanted to say about the bumpers, that I had Violet in my room in a bassinet until she was 3 months old. At that point she was rolling all around the place and I definitely feel more comfortable with bumpers to protect her from getting her arms and legs stuck, and bumping her head.
Simply having a fan on in the room while baby sleeps can greatly reduce the risk of SIDS as well, in addition to having no smokers in the home.
Each family obviously does what they feel works for them in regards to crib bumpers, but yes while they can be pretty, they DO protect babies.
Love the girlyness of the room :3 Makes me want to have a girl now!
