Name: Baby Boy (Due this month!)
Location: Pasadena, California
Our Nursery! What a labor of love. As soon as we found out we were having a little boy I went to town searching the web for inspiration -- Pinterest, Apartment Therapy, Project Nursery, etc. I have to admit I think I drove my husband a little crazy with fabric swatches and projects. He was a trooper!
This room used to be a nothing room. Do you have one of those rooms -- the kind that just collects stuff? It was kind of an office/storage space... it drove me crazy! I was so happy to give this space purpose, color, and life.
We started by emptying the room and getting rid of a lot of useless stuff. Daddy-to-be Owen painted it white, and we started with the rug. We both agreed that we wanted to go modern, and the rug was a perfect place to start. I suggest finding one item you love and building off of those colors and patterns. Owen also built a cubby/shelf with iron piping to hang clothes and mounted it to the wall. He's so handy!
The toys on top of the shelf are Owen's toys from when he was little. The barn is filled with animals, and "Willie" is filled with tools. He also had a cool surf board and some vintage cars from his childhood as well. The wheels on many of the cars are broken, so he made them into a cool hanging installation. A fun visual for baby to see on the wall (Plus, it doubled as a cover up to an ugly cord!
One week left to go, and I can't wait to bring our baby home! Thank you!

Congratulations on your baby boy! The room looks great, I love the use of old toy cars to hide a cord. Very creative!
Isn't the crib the Oeuf Sparrow? Love the Sputnik light, very sweet room.
Congrats! Baby boys are a lot of fun - enjoy every minute. And great nursery - I would suggest perhaps the patterned IKEA curtains on both windows, it would tie the room together. Just a thought.
Very sweet! Where's the lovely artwork from?
