The idea behind MyBox is simple and straightforward — a desk or workstation that can be put away.
Designed for use with laptops and accessorized with castors, a bulletin board, cord management and a locking lid, the MyBox prototype by Martela designer Iiro Viljanen is an ideal solution for small spaces — while the desk's everyday mess can be put away, the closed lid still provides the function of a table or work surface.
The hinged lid (made from thin, powder-coated steel) supports a built-in, upholstered bulletin board. MyBox is surprisingly easy to move on lockable castors and its proportions allow multiple units to quickly converge into a larger conference-sized table. Transforming furniture with multiple functions is always a good idea in our book!

Brilliant. & In a sustainable wood or even with a tablecloth voila, dining room table. Where do I order?
This looks really interesting. I recently fell in lust with Bunny Williams' Workhorse table after seeing it for the first time and am interested in anything that even comes close to the delectible creation.
Am I missing something? Wouldn't that work only if you had nothing on your desk? Where do files, pencils, printers, phones, faxes, staplers, in-boxes, etc go? Maybe it's just me....

it seems the top of the box that foldes down does have a few inches of hight so one could leave some shorter/thinner items on the surface...but nothing useful like a lamp or printer.
i'd like to see lighting incorporated into the top and more drawers...like long thing ones under the top with low profile hardware... if you're going to have to clear the surface of most items.
