Mystery Box Helps Contain Solitary Bees

See that small box on the wall? Yes? Good. That box is a beehive! But Sarah, we thought beehives had those pull out trays? Sure they do, but this hive is for a different type of bee that's equally important.

Over at Yvestown Blog, there's been some busy bee action. This time around solitary bees have been making hives in the end of her bamboo sticks. Determined to give them a better life they created this log shelf which has holes drilled into it. It's oddly pretty and gives the garden another place to house these fragile creatures.
