- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I just finished our bedroom, and I love everything about it. I know peach isn't a very popular bedroom color, but I think it's the perfect balance between cozy and cheerful. It's almost twice the size of our old bedroom, so I love that there is plenty of room for all of the furniture we need. I also love that, although small, there are two closets, and that there is a window in each closet.
- What are your tips for creating a beautiful, healthy and organized bedroom?
- I know that it's not always possible, but ideally, I think that a bedroom should be a bedroom. It shouldn't be a place to work, exercise, or store things.
- In modern homes, bedrooms have become more than just a place to sleep; they can be a retreat, a home office, a library, a relaxation zone. What are some ways you make the most of your bedroom?
- I'd love for my bedroom to be only a bedroom, but the reality is, my husband frequently works from home, and he needs a place to work. He often works in our bedroom, but rather than turning it into a bedroom/home office, he simply sets up his laptop on the vanity and puts it away when he is finished. We keep our main computer equipment at the desk in the kitchen, which helps keep our bedroom clean and uncluttered.

Anyone know what that paint color is?? It's lovely!
I love this bedroom!
I love this room, especially the way you layered the bed linens. I want to snuggle up in that cozy throw blanket!
It's monochromatic in a really soothing way but I love the little pop of green on your vanity (feather fern?) and wouldn't be adverse to seeing more of it! Well done.
Yes, please name the paint color. It's so cheerful!
I love the cane dressers! I think they look great painted white against the wall color. Very sweet!
Love the paint - very soothing for a bedroom. I could sleep here. :)
So spacious. But the paint color is really unsettling. Interesting how polarizing it is.
I'm surprised at all the paint hate. I think the color is great, I'd never choose it but its really nice. The room seems warm and cozy, but airy and spacious at the same time.
I think the paint color is beautiful. If she had called it "pale cognac" instead of peach, I bet there wouldn't be so many negative comments. This room is lovely. The restraint is refreshing, as is the choice of color.
There is a lovely color called Crescent Cream from SW that I used in a master years ago. I loved its warmth, and the atmospheric nature of it as the light moved through the room.
This color in this room could also be a lighter version of the very popular Wilmington Tan from BM.
^ Doubtful. I looked at the pictures before reading the post/description as "peach" and still felt weird about it. Combined with the gorgeous natural light that this room gets, it feels very creamsicle and personally I see it as a thick color - and I don't prefer those. But it's just personal taste.
I do, however, love the traditional, old-fashioned feeling furnishings! Especially the bedframe - if Natasha is reading (or if anyone else knows), where can that bed be found?!
Thanks everybody! I know the color isn't for everyone, but we love it. :)
@cellosara, @Smilla - the paint is Ellen Kennon's Apricot. The pictures are very true to how it looks in life--peach without any pink (or fleshy) undertones.
@globaltastes - yes! That's a feather fern, and I agree with you about the green--I wouldn't mind finding some curtains with a little of that green in them. I've always loved peach and green together.
@Lauren C. - The bed is from Target, if you can believe it. It was relatively cheap compared to anything similar that I've seen, but we've had it for 7-8 years now, and it has held up great. It's also the only piece of furniture in our bedroom that wasn't a hand me down! Unfortunately, they don't seem to carry it anymore.
Nice use of metallics.
I typically prefer cool colors in a bedroom, but I've seen peachy colors like this work beautifully in the right light, as in this case. Very nicely done!
I love your peach walls. So warm and refreshing to not see more cold grays.
Your room is not my style but it is lovely and peaceful.
I really like the modern seashell canvas and best of all, i love your dog!!!
I feel that your room transcends serenity which is all one wants out of room. Well done!!!
So pretty! Your dog is so cute. This is my favorite entry. :)
Awesome room and pup! We just happen to be fellow Grand Rapidians as well! Perfect!
I especially love the wall with the desk. I love how you layered everything so well.
I love that little nugget on your bed, very adorable!
I think the colors are great. I especially love the metallic accents. You blended the gold and silver nicely. My favorites are those dressers!
Love the peach walls! Have considered painting one of my bedroom walls in a tangerine-type hue as an accent color. The peach gives off a warm glow. Also like the groupings of art around various pieces of furniture. Not a fan of white furniture, but that's just me. This room works and serves the function of a place to rest. Good job!
The info about the bed frame being an older model kills me. :( What I've been pining after...
Thanks again, for all of the nice comments!
I agree about the peach giving off a warm glow. The room used to be pale blue, and with the northern exposure, it was awful and cold. I wanted to make it cozier, and the peach really worked!
The dressers were my sister-in-law's back in the 80s, and nobody else wanted them. I painted them white a few years ago, and I love them.
@kjmwrites - sorry about the bed! I know the feeling well.
This orangey tone is not my favorite, but I ooohed and aahhhed upon viewing this bedroom! I love the golden light. So elegant! So comfortable and restful! Good job. : )
I adore that mirrored lamp on your dresser--can you source it?
Thanks! I found the lamp at a thrift store, with the shade. Unfortunately, there isn't anything on either to indicate where they are originally from.
I love the apricot. I painted a living room in a 105 year old brick home a color very similar to this and it was gorgeous in person - it adds so much warmth to the wood floors and it presented so bright during the day and really deep and warm during the evenings. I think its a great bedroom choice.
I would KILL for those faux bamboo inspired dressers. I've been looking for something similar for years in the antique shops.
Thanks, alahoop. Great find!
I used to live in a house that had several rooms painted in sherbet and peach tones, and they were wonderful rooms because they were cheerful during the day and warm and inviting at night. You did well.
kjmwrites -- About the bed, I have one that is similar and it was made by Wesley Allen. Quality is good and I recall the price being very reasonable. I have had it for several years.
@ Borealis, @Rainybeth, yes! That was exactly what I was going for with this color: something warm and cozy in the evenings, but bright and cheerful during the day. And I agree that it's perfect for a bedroom. :)
Lovely.
