Living in Chicago, it's hard not to see Nate Berkus' influence everywhere. As Oprah's decorating guru, his sense of style finds its way into millions of homes. 1stdibs recently interviewed Berkus about the things he loves, including Chicago hot dogs, Pavilion in Bucktown, American Apparel Beach Towels, and Italian sculpture from the 1970s...

Nate Berkus' casual, mix-and-match approach to decorating has a lot of appeal. One of our favorite quotes: "I really want people to figure out how to connect with their own spaces. You have to simplify things..."

"Interior design is an industry that's shrouded in mystery for some reason, and it doesn't have to be. I think a lot of the mystery stems from the fact that people feel ignorant. But, like anything else, if you take an interest in it you can learn."

Nomade Express Slee...
More pictures of Nate, please.
Nate, if you are reading this, would love to interview you for AT.
And I am single.
And, oh, to be Midas-touched by Oprah!
I checked this just to see if P2 had commented.
I do not disappoint. Nate, take note.
I saw him at Neimans while we were shopping for shoes before his trip the next day to L.A.
He was letting those jeans HAVE IT!!! Baby had back like DAMN!!! And he was so cute with just a vneck tee and sandals. He almost got attacked by a black & filipino samurai named KK!
Nate...if you're reading....come get down....with the swirl....jungle fever, baby....jungle fever.
Wow, this post has taken a turn I did not expect... not on this website at least. Craigslist-sure, AT-um, no.
Anyway, I love his style. I have loved absolutely everything I've seen by Nate.

Slurp!
Tiffany--
Then you have sooooo not been paying attention.
I'm not really into his work. I think the taint of Oprah has left him grossly over rated.
Oprah has a taint????
Patrick (the other one), you may be the naughtiest AT'er out there.
The funny thing about Nate Berkus is that I'm not that into the work he's done for Oprah and other clients. However, his own apartment is fabulous and really well done (some photos shown on 1stdibs).
The stuff he's done for clients is very typical American interior design. Topnotch, no doubt, but kinda boring...
Domino's current issue features 10 top/promising interior designers, but only 2 are worthwhile to watch.
I LOVE Nate Berkus!!!! He's so cute and seems like such a very nice guy!!!
