Last week, I did something unprecedented. I shopped HSN. With an impending birthday coming soon, I think it's best to accept my new status as an old lady and embrace all the urges (like television shopping and chair aerobics) that happen.
As embarrassed as I am about its source, I don't regret my purchase at all. Today I received the Nate Berkus™ 26-piece Gift Wrap Kit and it is awesome. Lately I've been wrapping gifts only in solid brown paper to eliminate the need to keep many materials around. But when I came across this set of coordinating papers, bags, cards, and twine, I thought the designs were so simple and pretty that I knew it would be worth the storage space in my closet.
Beyond the wrapping materials, Oprah's interior designer Nate Berkus has produced a really great line of decorative items for your home and person. Everything coordinates in neutral, earthy, and masculine tones, but the textures and finishes of the items vary to create visual interest. You can browse all of Nate's offerings for HSN here.
If I've crossed some irreversible threshold into adulthood, so be it. I love the black wrapping paper with gold scales so much that I'm thinking about framing a piece. And Mom and Sister if you're reading this - I totally got a set for each of you, too.

i too like nate berkus style but $25 (with shipping) seems a little high unless the rolls of paper are longer than usual...with coupons or smart shopping you probably could get the same supplies for less...and unless you posted a very old picture under the team bios you would hardly qualify as an "old lady".
everything is so beige and brown. I bet Nate still decorates with espresso/dark brown furniture too.
That wrapping paper makes me sad. It seems perfect for wrapping sensible gifts like underwear or a six-pack of white socks.
it's nice style.
