My inspiration started when I found a white, distressed dresser at the Christie antique show four years ago. Even though I didn't have any kids, I knew this would be in my nursery one day. From there I wanted to make this room really personal while mixing old with the new.
For instance, my mom always sang You Are My Sunshine to me when I was young, so I wanted to frame this print I found on Etsy. I wanted fun prints and graphics incorporated in the room. I found these amazing prints from Avalisa to hang over the crib. The curtain fabric was from Tonic Living and made with love by my mom and aunt.
The one thing that means the most to me in this room is the corner bookshelf. This used to be my grandmother's who passed away this past June. She always wanted me to have it and gave me permission to paint it. We painted it this wonderful shade of blue and brought it into the nursery. It fits perfectly!
Transforming this small spare bedroom into a nursery with my husband was so much fun. I am so happy when I am in this room, and I can't wait to read each and every one of those books we have on the shelf to our little guy!
