Birch branches are plentiful at many garden centers and floral departments this time of year, and their sparse beauty can be used a number of ways, from elegant centerpieces to chic alternatives to traditional evergreen trees.

White Enamel Four-P...
Birch branch candles are my favorite decorating staple this time of year. Relevant from Thanksgiving right thru the new year.
Great post!
Sometimes natural elements are the most beautiful. These are great. Thanks.
Okay a question regarding the sticks-with-ornaments pic: what kind of sticks are best if all you have is regular sized ornaments? Most of which are nonbreakable plastic or wood.
I threw out our decrepit fake tree two years ago. Last year we didn't have a tree and everyone but me was sad. This year the cries for a tree started before Halloween. But I don't want to take care of a real cut tree with the watering and the allergens and the possible catching on fire. I'm trying to come up with tree-like things for all over the house (and maybe a big arborvitae or rosemary bush if I can) but I'm having a creative block. Also, all those modernst alterna-trees look super awful to me even though I usually love that stuff. I don't want any plywood shaped like a tree or a tree made of giant tongue depressors. :(
I love the birch branches with icicles, though I might leave those off and just go with the pine cones in the vase. I didn't see the arrangement on the website, but it could easily be duplicated, and for much less $$$, I'm sure.
