Natural Materials in the Kitchen

Kitchen materials have to be durable and lots of new synthetic finishes have been developed to withstand tough use. Some natural materials are up to the job, too, though. Here, we take a look at a few:

1 Natural wood cabinets and a golden-hued stone countertop make this kitchen warm, even when mixed with that modern stool and stainless steel appliances. as featured in House Beautiful
2 Bluestone kitchen counters and floors. The stone in this kitchen by David Klienberg is bluestone: its naturally dark color will resist staining and it looks beautiful while adding subtle color.
3 Wood and marble countertops bring the nature right through that large over-the-sink window in this kitchen from This Old House.
4 A big old limestone farmhouse sink alongside natural wood countertops in a Kentucky log cabin from Country Living.
