We spent a lot of our Thanksgiving break dreaming up our ultimate backyard. We couldn't resist this bungalow; if we had a yard right now, we'd totally buckle down and build this totally chic extra space designed by Edgar Blazona--because how many times do you need just 100 extra square feet, especially as the holidays make overnight guests a certainty? (Armed with a small space heater, the song "Baby It's Cold Outside" won't come to mind.) Jump below for the link and how-to.
This is the ultimate redesign for D-I-Y; ReadyMade asked Blazona to design something that would look as good as his modular dwellings, but could be built at a tenth of the $15,000 pricetag. We think that you could also incorporate some recycled materials in this project to add a little personal flair. Recycled windows, metal signs, and even old barnwood could be used to make this an even greener build.
So, if you've got some time, can handle a large project, and need some extra space, check out the 10x10 Modular Dwelling project. Happy building!
