Neon Desert House

Neon Desert House

The New York Times looked at the desert home of Los Angeles couple Tracy Tynan and Jim McBride. Their 1,200-square-foot weekend home in Joshua Tree, California was inspired by the prefabricated housing designs of architect Rocio Romero. The bright orange and chartreuse exterior is the antithesis of the modest and relaxed white interior...

The house is furnished with flea-market finds and second-hand treasures. While there is only a single photo of the interior, we loved the laid-back look of the white interior, pale bamboo floors and sparse furnishings. (The dining set is vintage Russel Wright.) For the complete story, see Off the Set, Into the Desert.
