Elephant Embroidery Pillow from Jonathan Adler

We noted earlier this year that neon was back in a big way. Neon can be difficult to pull off without seeming overbearing, but we have a little more flexibility in a child's room to be playful and fun. So would you consider using neon as an accent (or more?) in your kid's bedroom?

We gathered up a few ideas for putting a pop of color into a child's space, but we're looking for even more ideas. Have you painted an entire wall in a super bright color? Acquired a piece of neon furniture? Here are a few other ideas we came across:

• Room designed by Jenni Juurinen: This is the most neon we found in one place, but even one of these pieces culled by Jenni Juurinen would add a great touch to a bedroom.

• Neon Cloud Embroidery by Annily Green: If you want to DIY your neon, Annily Green found hot pink masonry twine at Lowe's.

• Funny Elephant Bedding at Linenstore UK: Sheet sets, or, if you are braver, comforters and duvets provide a perfect canvas for adding bright color.

• Star garland by Mechant Design: We love this garland because it brings intense color while still staying subtle. And it looks fantastic against the gray walls.

• Elephant Embroidery Pillow from Jonathan Adler: While it's not the most original place to add accents, pillows are easy to come by and easy to make on your own. And when you're neon phase is over, you can change the cover out.
