Nest Learning Thermostat

This has got the buzz this week in our office. An elegant, energy saving thermostat that is wifi ready and allows you to monitor your house from a distance. Yes, it's digital house jewelry, that actually works and can be self installed in 30 minutes.

The brainchild of Tony Fadell, former Senior Vice President of the iPod Division at Apple, the Nest is waking up a ubiquitous but totally sleepy part of every house. And, according to David Pogue, who tested it, it "doesn’t introduce just one radical rethinking of the thermostat; it introduces four of them." I urge you to check out his whole review here. Meanwhile, I've linked to the second generation version which launches in a just a few days (this remind you of Apple?). Pretty soon we'll be swapping our thermostats out every two years and deciding between AT&T and Verizon!
