I'll start this one: I am going to wash the hallway and desk area floor this weekend. This is a continuation of the floor from the kitchen that I washed this month (to refresh your memories, this was the first time I washed the kitchen floor since I moved in about 14 months ago.) The flooring looks like more or less like this: http://tinyurl.com/amkm4
but the overall color is lighter than this pic. At any rate, it's great tile and never looks dirty. But, when I washed the kitchen floor, it did look lighter and it felt great walking around on it in bare feet, which I usually wouldn't want to do.
As you can tell, I hate washing floors and I spend more time thinking about it than doing it, so now I'll do it.
that's hilarious! go PIXIE!
(I appreciate your honesty)
I myself have entered into a whole lot of projects that qualify in the renew category, but right now mean alot of cleaning up plaster and razoring old silicone.
And god help me, today I had a stoop sale.
Guido,
How did your stoop sale go?
That stoop sale, it was pretty fun.
Heartening to have my books fly off the shelves into appreciative hands (it's totally boring when nobody wants your stuff, which was the case with a bunch of vintage housewares. Ebay, here we come.)
I have previously resisted sitting on the street peddling the detritus of my life, but my friend had a lot of cute clothes and no stoop and I'm glad I played along. THe key for us was short and sweet - it peaked in about 3 hours.
The electrician showed up at the same time, so it was even easier to hang around the house all afternoon.
"...previously resisted sitting on the street peddling the detritus of my life..."
I've had yard sales in the past and the most amazing thing is that when you put it on the street with a tag on it, you never want to take it back in. Where previously something might have been a possession you couldn't part with, it becomes detritus after it's been on the sidewalk.
I haven't cleaned anything this weekend.
*hangs head in shame*
Well, I cleaned the bathroom counter, but only 'cause I had to (I was dyeing slipcovers).
Shoot, I'm going to go clean a bit more in there right now...
I had to hustle to make my deadline tonight, but I did it - I washed the floor in the very long hallway and desk area. So glad I got that over with. I wouldn't have done it if I hadn't said I would here.
Also finished cleaning the insides of the fridge, which I did gradually over this month. And emptied out a cabinet full of stale baking supplies that I had moved from my old place over a year ago, cleaned out the cabinet and have retaken possession of it as a functioning part of the kitchen.
I still have to go through the rest of the stuff I hauled out from under the bed and figure out what to get rid of and where to put the keepers. But, I still have one day left of Discardia (see previous topic on this, I think last week), so, as much as I hate to do anything on a Monday night, I will do this, so it doesn't linger. I'm done for tonight.
Hello everyone I am new to this site but I am already in love!
I cleaned out one of my storage units (by putting it into the one that comes with my apartment - saving money) And I am slowly emptying it one box/bag at a time.....and getting rid of a lot of stuff, Yeah! Unfortunatley due to an injury I am not suppose to be up and about - do you know how hard that is, ugh! Well nice to meet you all - have a wonderful week....
So,this is how you guilt, I mean, motivate yourself to cleanup. OK, tonight I'm going to spend 2.5 hours cleaning up my kitchen and cooking at the same time. I think I'll pick up a pizza for the kiddies just in case.
Dorianne--
"Dying slipcovers" trumps "swiffered listlessly" any day. Pick that head up proudly, sister!!!
jeebus, patrick, you just made me spew diet pepsi on my screen! LMFAO! >D
Okay, THAT you'll have to clean up. :)
