Amidst the great Lightbulb Wars of 2011— Re-Nest's highly-charged (I couldn't resist) review of energy-efficient bulbs— lamps are neutral territory. With so much effort being put into finding the ideal bulb, I've been thinking about the kind of lamp whose eco-conscious construction and style might be fitting the victor. Roost's recycled aluminum lamp base is certainly a contender.

The base (sold without a shade) is made of 100% sand-cast recycled aluminum. The faux antlers are particularly appealing this time of year when I'm already fantasizing about a ski lodge escape with the kind of animal-based effigies even a vegan can love.
