Q: I moved into a new apartment a few months ago, but my living room still doesn't feel like home to me — probably because it doesn't really feel like "me" yet. I think the warm taupe paint color has thrown me off (I'm used to bolder colors), as has the full-length sliding glass door.
The view is nothing special, so I rarely have the blinds open, so it feels like wasted space. I don't like how the TV dominates the room, or how all the furniture is sort of pushed against the wall. I also wish I had a clever way to hide the tangle of cords and routers in the corner:
Do you have any suggestions for how I could infuse a little more of my personality and bring this room together? Where could I hang some more art, or add shelving? (Above/next to the TV?) Should I add an accent wall? Move things around?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
