Apple has just released their first battery charger, and it's taking a stab (with a stake, no doubt) at vampire energy. Unlike conventional battery chargers which continue to draw power even after charging is complete, Apple's charger senses when its batteries are done charging and automatically reduces the amount of power it needs—from 350 milliwatts down to just 30 milliwatts. Additionally, you get six reusable batteries with each charger that are meant to last through hundreds of charges and have a service life up to ten years, so you can cross "batteries" off your shopping list.

The six high-performance AA NiMH batteries are enough to power your Mac life: two for your keyboard, two for your mouse or trackpad, and two for charging. Buy it now for $29.
