At this point in the game it seems that everyone is up for purchasing an old piece of furniture and giving a makeover a try. We've painted them, we've stained them, we've antiqued the hell out of them and the list goes on. So what's next? How about embroidery? Yes, I think so.
Although the idea isn't exactly new, it isn't seen on every page of every home decor magazine (yet) and we doubt it will catch on in the same way that ombre dresser drawers have. That said, we still greatly adore this simple idea that helps out those of us who aren't talented enough to stencil an octopus on our found furniture items.
We checked in over at Design*Sponge and found this lovely cabinet transformation. The piece was simple and perfectly nice looking as is, but this hand stitched design has made it drool-worthy for sure. It would be easy enough to do with almost any pattern and a trip to your local craft store. Do you like the look? Let us know below!

Nomade Express Slee...
On the one hand I really love the color the addition of some textile detail. The design is really pretty. I just worry about it getting pretty beat up by little kids hands (and their round tipped scissors). Very cool idea for the right home.
Oh my. String art. Very 70's... Here are some patterns: FREE STRING ART PATTERNS
No. Just no.
Hideous.
Aw, cool. I kinda like it. It would be fun in a child's room.
Um, no. No. No. No.
cool!
Not a fan, sorry. I think this is interesting in concept, but not effective enough to be worth the work involved and the fragility of the result. (Maybe using colored wire instead of fiber??) I prefer furniture decoration to make sense structurally and functionally. But that's me...
nope.
