Lately, all the house tours that have been running on Apartment Therapy Boston seem to have amazing art collections. Scrolling through these photos reminded us how huge an influence artwork has on a home's personality. Original contemporary paintings, antique sculptures, folk art from other countries — the scope has been wide and rich in recent tours. Here's a selection of our favorites.
These collections are all distinctive, like the homeowners themselves. From this small glimpse into what they choose to hang on their walls, you get a sense of the kind of people they might be. For a deeper look into each persons' home, click through the links below.

Nomade Express Slee...
Beautiful..and an aside, I am officially tired of seeing that EAMES chair.
I especially love #1 and #6, for their simplicity and the way they feature the artwork really well without any distractions. Although I admittedly may be partly partial to #1 because of that orange color you see through the doorway--it works really well in combination with that room. (And, okay, fine, it's the color I have in my stairwell and upstairs hallway!)
The Eames DCW is actually one of the less common variants I see on these tours. Unless you are objecting to all Eames chairs in general.
beautiful homes, love the 1st room.
Does anyone know of a blue paint color similar to that shown in the first image above? It is stunning.
No, i love EAMES, but i do happen to see that chair a lot, at least it feels like a lot.
obsessed with the reading lamp in the first pic. anyone know where i could find a similar one that is decently priced (under $100?)
Not to offend anyone, but it seems almost a requirement for a home to have an Eames chair in order to win a contest on Apt. Therapy. I get that there is a valid reason that have been trendy and popular for a long time... just seems almost a design cliche at this point.
what happened to the month where readers would submit pics of art in their home?
I agree w/ s_boston that EAMES is cliche.
Love 9 and 10 in particular!
There are some really great pieces in these homes, although I'm not totally crazy on how they're displayed, it's makes me happy to see people (proudly) displaying original art in their homes. As a sister to 4 fine artists, I know how rough it is out there for anyone to like your art, let only, fork over some cash to buy your piece. Maybe it's a mid-West thing but growing up, everyone had those framed landscape prints or prints of someone famous and it seems to be a shift to showing your individuality and taste.
And sorry, illegal danish, I'm going to have to disagree, the DCW seems to be one of the most popular MCM pieces on AT.
Wall groupings of smaller objects are a favorite of mine when decorating. Clients always have smaller pieces of art or photographs but sometimes lack the larger pieces. I love the display over the white fireplace above. But one of my favorite all time groupings was from Domino Magazine, you can use this display as a great guide. http://bit.ly/dyZEEO.
