We know that many of you are using gDiapers lately and we have several friends and family members that are using them too. They're colorful, eco-friendly and free up your nursery from having a diaper pail. But just recently, they've expanded their line up and the world's first disposable diaper is now, reusable (which sounds far grosser than it really is). See how after the jump...
Many moms and dads around the world have been asking for reusable inserts for their gDiapers. They love the brand but have wanted a solution to buying refill after refill. You asked, they listened and now you can purchase just that. A soft absorbent cloth insert that can be used time and time again.
There have been diy versions with the same idea, floating around the internet for some time now. But just in case you're not big on doing it yourself, you should be all set. 6 inserts will run you $24.99 and $29.99 depending on the size and would be a great alternative for those looking to reduce the number of refills they go through.

I guess I don't understand what makes these diapers any different than other pocket diapers. But then I never understood the point of gDiapers anyway.
I think that is great. Cloth inserts at home, flushables while out and about!
I've been using these for about a year. Bought my hemp/microfleece inserts online somewhere, and they were about the same price as gdiapers is offering them for. Of all of the different kinds of cloth diapers I've tried (fuzzy bunz, bumgenius, regular cloth with various brands of diaper covers), I like this one the best. They are the trimmest solution I've found for fitting into today's baby and toddler clothes that are made for trim disposable diapers. You put your baby in a traditional cloth diaper and they get a very fluffy butt that won't fit into jeans or baby yoga pants.
The only real complaint I have is that the diaper cover and plastic snap in insert can't be washed in hot water, so I tend to wash insert and outer pieces separately. They hold in big messes pretty well, though.
I would not be inclined to try these because for us G-diapers were big leakers.
loved the way the g's looked but man oh man, they leaked big time. i ended up throwing all my chips into the bum genius all in ones. they are pricey, but so worth it IMO. not sure that a reusable insert is really going to be of any help here.
Very leaky.
Also, the plastic snaps on the liner rubbed on the baby's hips. He had nearly-raw spots by the end of the first day. I couldn't get any of the other parts to stay put under the snaps to shield his skin from them.
We love gidiapers. We recently switched from 7th Generation and use the flushables for our toddler. They contain pee well and the liner almost always (once in 15 days) contains the poop. What does that mean? It means rather than washing the cover with every wear you can wash it for general hygenie reasons, i.e. once a week at most. It takes a lot less water and a lot less trips to the laundry. We produce SO much less waste now, it is really cool.
We haven't tried any of the reusable inserts but will give them a try soon. I've been collecting cloth for the infant but will probably switch to gs once I hit medium.
Note that there are many coupons floating around right now for a $30/off a $70 6 pack of covers. Much cheaper than fancy cloth AIOs or pockets.
I wanted to LOVE gDiapers, but they were pretty disappointing. They leaked a lot... so we traded them in for Nature Babycare disposable diapers & we're super happy with them. They're compostable and are made with natural material. No chlorine or oil-based plastics! And, they were cheaper than the gDiaper inserts.
Diapers.com has good prices on Nature Babycare and free shipping when you spend $50. Use code: jetkat and you'll get $10 off your first order. We love Nature Babycare & diapers.com -diapers that arrive overnight & don't leak. Ahhh....
Is anyone else sick of diapers.com spam everywhere in the universe? Seriously. Every blog post / craigslist post in the universe has someone shilling for their products. I get that they give you a promo code and you can make a little money but seriously. It is really annoying. I know about them. Everyone on the internet is sick to death of the shill.
Amazon Subscribe and Save is cheaper for both Nature BabyCare and gdiaper products and *I* am not making any money by pointing it out. Shipping is also free. Gdiapers are $.04 per diaper more than NatureBabycare and a lot less manufacturing and waste. Love NatureBabycare unscented biodegradable wipes though... (Which are also cheaper on amazon)
We've been using the g diapers with flushables for 2 years on our daughter and plan to with the new bub as well!
the leaking can be solved by not over tightening which can happen if you are used to disposables. once you've mastered the fit we've never had a blowout- ever! they have a video to help with fit on their website.
their pant designs/ colors are super cute and i like that you can use cloth OR a flushable/compostable liner for out and about which for us is more convenient than an AIO.
we haven't tried the gcloth yet but i think its smart for them to come out with a cloth liner since lots of people use cloth in their g diapers.
personally i don't want the extra step of scrapping waste into the toilet before throwing away my disposable or nature baby care diaper which is why i prefer the g flushies since the waste goes where it belongs without an extra step :)
you can use my code g580brimberry for the everyday g pack (6 starter pants for 40$!) mentioned above by a poster at www.gdiapers.com - i'd love to win a gift cert b/c i love these diapers!
Hi-I've been using g's on my two boys for awhile now. There's a little bit of a learning curve, but once I got it down we were golden! If the diapers are leaking, you (in all likelihood) may have a fit issue (wrong size, or maybe putting the insert in incorrectly). We really don't have leaks unless I forget how long it's been since I've changed them (with two in diapers it seems like all I do is change diapers). We have NEVER had a problem with rubbing from snaps (maybe another size issue?).
I love g's as their customer service is off-the-charts amazing. I am a part of the Yahoo! group and they really listen to what their consumers are asking for (new styles, eg 4th of July pant, gCloth, etc), have wonderful coupons and promos, and they have been very responsive as far as troubleshooting, etc.
The big draw for me was that g's are flushable. Before we switched, I was emptying the garbage every single day and that was getting old quick! I am just starting to use the cloth with g's, but am under the impression that the parents who use cloth with g's is because it is easier to swap out the insert and your baby can still wear the same pant. This means that you don't need to have a huge stash of g's.
On a side note, I realize lots of people use Amazon for their diapering needs, but just to point it out, they sell dog fighting magazines. Would you buy from them if they sold child pornography? Just a thought.
