We've featured Kalon Studios' popular IoLine crib before, but according to the Kalon site, the Io Crib is "a fresh take" on their classic piece. Check out what's different:
You'll find the main difference between the two cribs in the sides. The original IoLine has a fold-down top, while the Io has a fixed side but a lower height. The Io crib has two adjustable heights, instead of the traditional three in the IoLine. Like its predecessor, the Io crib converts seamlessly into a toddler bed and is made with sustainable bamboo and non-toxic finishes.
Available for $1595 from Kalon Studios.

gorgeous! again, why does good design have to be SO expensive?! UGH!
Beautiful. A lot of cribs are expensive + imported junk. This actually looks like the expense is in the design and manufacturing.
beautiful. it's art. but seriously who can afford this for a crib? not us.
Looks dangerous. Can't you just see a kid getting their toes in the horizontal bars and popping themselves out?
If you think about it, because the crib converts into a toddler bed that should last until a child is about 6-8yrs old then you are making a pretty good investment. At around $1595 you are paying $199 a year for something that has amazing manufacturing and is made here in the US with materials you can trust.
As parents we've been looking at the products we get our kids as things that will outlast the wear and tear of childhood as opposed to being replaced over and over or have to be thrown into a dumpster after a short period of time.
IMHO not so bad.
