Maxwell's Modern Sleeper Sofa & Sofa Bed Reviews

Dwell

Earlier this year, Dwell Magazine asked me to review an assortment of modern sofa beds, and my sleeper sofa opinions are in the September issue. Mind you, I was not responsible for choosing the sofas, only for reviewing them, but they included great ones, most of which are on my most recent list — Best Sleeper Sofas & Sofa Beds 2009.

Dwell was also good in using my unvarnished words, which were sometimes a bit harsh (but correct). Their list is not ranked by preference, but I have rearranged the list to show mine here. Click through to read the reviews & enjoy!

>> Rest Assured: From sitting and sleeping to lolling and loitering, these new sleeper sofas are workaholics of relaxation—on either the day or the night shift.

I also include here some outtakes that I took myself on the day. Being in this photo studio in Brooklyn, a large airy space, was a pleasure in itself. The photographer, Jim Bastardo, who also shoots a lot of DWR's stuff, took all the pics and made it all very clean, modern and Dwell-y. He was also funny, which made smiling for the camera so much easier.
