More eye candy! Another new online magazine has come to the web. This one is called Matchbook and it aims to bring the newest in interior design, fashion, the arts and culture to its readers.
Matchbook is a self-anointed "field guide to a charmed life" and really does cover all aspects of modern living in stunning pictorial. The layouts and illustrations are particularly charming, as are the in-depth looks at how real women express themselves creatively via lifestyle choices. We look forward to reading much more of this new publication and are looking forward to the second issue — due very soon!

Shaw's Original Fir...
I really enjoyed the bright and crisp layout/graphic style of the magazine and website. It reminded me of Kate Spade. I liked the most of the fashion sections and the recipes look great, but I really wasn't impressed with the interior design stuff (which wasn't much). Not the best new online mag but it has promise!
lol "a matchbook girl...received an ipad for her birthday, but will never give up her library card"!! Yes!!
I'd never share my last piece of gum
I love this magazine!
I'm a little worried that the "matchbook girl" might turn out to be a Lincoln Park Trixie, but this online mag looks really cute!
Is this magazine related to Kate Spade? I couldn't tell from the info. It is an almost exact copy of the Kate Spade look though.
Jury's out on this zine. They're certainly ambitious - I wonder if that many big names is sustainable or if they would've been better served spreading the love amongst a few issues. Also: I'm no editor but it seems like they could use some editorial help. I just the finished the interview with the couple who run a business together, and had to go back and reread it just to find out what their business is, or where one might find it (still don't know). In general, context/wrapping feels missing from a lot of the pieces. That page on movies and personal style - why? who? Now I'm on to Princess Margaret but I have to look for a header to even know it's a new article. I felt a bit tossed about reading the issue.
Not to end on a sour note: Nice photography. And shoutout to Exeter, my Dad lives down the road.
I flipped through this and was not impressed. the direction and audience was unclear and they really could use a layout designer to set up the whole structure of the mag. right now it looks like a slapped together project which it isn't but with the right design could pull it together.
oooh, count me in!
