Prairie Hive's Inaugural Issue
It just won't stop. A little over a week after the New York Times published a controversial article on the thriving online shelter industry, we received an email alerting us to yet another newcomer. Prairie Hive separates itself from the pack by 1) being Midwestern, 2) focusing on a more "attainable and affordable" aesthetic, and 3) filling its pages with DIY projects.Creative Director Sarah Vespasian says, "Our team is a collaboration of designers, photographers, writers, and crafty, creative women based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our magazine has a smaller format, locally focused content, and aims to show readers that good design can be attainable and affordable."
