The Jonathan Adler booth at ICFF always feels like a little bit of an oasis of maximalist fun in the middle of the show floor. Not that the other booths aren't also fun, but the styling of the booth is such a happy jumble of color and texture and furniture and lighting and tchotchkes - it feels like you've stumbled upon something very different in the sea of sparsely decorated trade show stalls.
We took the tour and snapped a few pix of additions to the Jonathan Adler oeuvre - enjoy the peek at what is new, new-ish and on its way:
Shown above, left to right:
1. A dining table addition to the Bond line. Our favorite.
2. A white leather dresser with metal bamboo pulls - very glam.
3. "Classic" Adler pieces done up in brass.
4. More brass in great shapes.
5. A very California style tile-topped coffee table.

Unless you have a nice big artsy home, i'd think most of these items, especially the golden banana would look super tacky??
@MonicaK - I think the banana is ridiculous. The pedestals can probably be used for a fairly muted effect, but the banana is clearly meant to be ostentatious and it would be extremely tacky in most homes. Maybe it can live in a banana collection. Someone out there has to collect banana stuff.
I'm loving the golden banana....
...would look great in my living room on that tile table!
@MonikaK - I have to disagree. My husband and I have a small humble home, but we make the most of our space by making it "us." One of the ways I do that is with Jonathan Adler Utopia pottery collection (like those featured on the Bond dining table). It adds a bit of whimsy and character to our home and simply makes me smile just looking at them :)
I'm kinda in love with the tiled coffee table! Would love it in my home!
I love the Utopia collection! It kind of reminds me of some of Bjørn Wiinblad's work for Rosenthal.

ok, i admit it..that banana is too sexy for me or for my guests. LOL
i love that burl table!
the bananas a bit much, but it's amazing to see the growth and breadth of the line.
'New' from Jonathan Adler is rather oxymoronic since absolutely everything he 'designs' is derivative (which I think he would admit himself). I tend to like the late MCM style JA embraces, but not for its originality.
I do like Adler in small doses-but when assembled all in one spot-such as his booth at ICFF it looks like a combo of flea market and estate sale..
"I tend to like the late MCM style JA embraces, but not for its originality."
Sure many of his furniture pieces are not 100% original designs - But if you want a Parzinger dresser, a Paul Evans console, a set of matching James Mont Dining Chairs or a Dunbar sofa, but don't want to pay tens of thousands of dollars for one of the few remaining immaculate vintage pieces (Yes, that's how much a perfect piece/set can cost nowadays) this is the way to get that style for far less.
It's simply the 70's all over again. Adler is SO overrated.
I'd expect ATers to have a better sense of humor and home-whimsy.
Oh well.
I adore Jonathan Adler simply because he doesn't take himself too seriously. I probably tend to take myself TOO seriously, and so his items help me to remember to lighten up a bit. Just like JustJules916 said, I smile every time I walk in my home and see the few pieces I have from his collection (in my case, the menagerie collection).
Aren't we over him yet? Come on, the guy is selling pencil sets... He hasn't done anything innovative in years, same shite, new glaze.
I think Jonathan Adler is for people who want to seem quirky, artistic and a little bohemian to their friends, but can't actually create anything themselves or carve out their own unique style.
Wow i love this new collection and can't wait to buy some of these pieces. I asked about the banana today in the store. Apparently it is going to be solid brass, cast from a piece they sculpted it in the studio in New York. love!
