Just launched at ICFF Blu Dot's new sleeper sofa — The Diplomat — has the same transforming function as their popular sofa bed One Night Stand, but sits on a walnut frame.
Just like Blu Dot's 2008 sleeper debut One Night Stand, the transition process couldn't be easier for The Diplomat. After removing the two back cushions, the sofa flips open like a clamshell. Form follows function here — the back and arm rests of the sofa become the support for the queen-sized sleeping surface.
A Diplomat will be available in 4 neutral colors including Blu Dot's newest upholstery options: brunette, coal, smog and stone.
DESIGNER Blu Dot
PRICE $1,799
DIMENSIONS 30"H x 80"W x 30"D Mattress height 11.5''
TRANSITION EASE A
NOTE: The images from Blu Dot are a bit misleading — like the One Night Stand, the Diplomat actually flips FORWARD so if you open the sofa into the bed from image #1, the walnut base would be in the back.

I wish they would make a coordinating love seat. A nice sofa/sleeper love seat is what we need at the BF's place.
the pillows come with it or you have to buy them separately??
They actually named a color smog and expect people to buy it??
Kay McCurley - agreed
I like the look of it--clean, simple lines--but I've yet to sit in a BluDot sofa that was actually comfortable. They feel like hard office sofas with scratchy upholstery, IMO.
I like a lot of their stuff, and they are a local company but MAN they are smug (marketing wise, I'm sure they are fine people) and super expensive. Yikes.
I have this sofa in coal - it was just made available in Dec 2010. The sofa sits high compared to other sofas and the seat is not deep enough. I am not happy with it, but am kind of stuck with it. The sleeper function is great though.
