The building, it turns out, is one small part of a major redevelopment of the area and a joint venture between the architectural firm Bennetts Associates and landscape architects, Clarke Associates. Though it initially had a bumpy start (some of the plants died and had to be rearranged), a year after winning the prestigious Civic Trust Award, it definitely appeared to be thriving--even in chilly November! Pretty cool, huh?

Wow, can you tell us exactly where that is? I want to go and have a close look!
the city hall in Reykjavík has a gorgeous example of a green wall as well. It's made of lava stone and covered in moss that's kept constantly watered by the pond below.
This is down the street from where I work, just down New Fetter Lane off Holborn Circus (heading towards Fleet street).
It's an incredible idea, and the architecture of the building is amazing...
But dang, those plants are unattractive.
