Just looking at it make me itch!
I have often wanted to buy Flor carpet---but deep down inside of me I keep saying that the edges will not hold up and will look like a mess in just a matter of time. Is this true with people who have them and have pets and kids and walk on the edges all the time---how about the vacuum cleaner also.
We have the FLOR poodle tiles in a light blue/green color. The edges have held up fine actually. And the whole thing looked great until we had a kid...but this is probably more because of the light color than the actual tiles holding up. I would get them again, but in a darker color, if you have a kid/and or pets. Vacuuming is fine, we have a canister vacuum that does a perfectly good job on them. We probably should get them steam cleaned, and I'm sure they'll be fine.
I have FLOR morning coffee tiles (dark brown) as an entry way runner. They have held up very well with medium traffic (we do have a dog but no kids). The edges don't seem like they will wear, but you do see a slight bit of the dark gray edging...in other words, its not like a bound carpet. Definitely get samples. I got a bunch and some seemed like they would be lint magnets (esp. fedora, between the lines).
